Sound Play: Echo with Tickle

Echo with Tickle is a sound play game, part of a suite of word and sound play games I use with children developing phonological awareness. Students listen closely to identify the individual sound Tickle is missing as she echoes words. Students isolate the sound and “tell” Tickle what she is missing by clearly articulating the missing sound. Usually, these sound play games (with Tickle, as well as with other characters) are done in person. But, we have been playing them remotely with preschoolers since spring 2020.
